This is really bizarre. In 2008, Obama said he would lower healthcare premiums by $2,500 a year for the average family.
Then, we passed Obamacare. He told us it would cost $900 billion over 10 years, but now the CBO tells us it will cost $2.6 trillion over 10 years. Damn, if it’s going to be 3 times more expensive, then it should save us 3 times as much, right? Healthcare costs should decrease by $7,500. But I won’t hold Obama to that, I’ll just keep with the $2,500 promise.
But what’s weird is that Obama must have forgot to tell everybody about Obamacare because costs are skyrocketing. Seniors are set to see a double digit increase in the costs of their drug plans next year. And the average family’s health insurance premiums have increased by over $3,000 since Obama became President. So Obama’s promise is currently off by $5,565.
And by far the biggest increase came the very next year after Obamacare was passed.
If you combine the $3,065 increase in healthcare premiums with the $4,000 decrease in median incomes, it becomes much worse. Things suck for the average family and they are only getting worse.
